The Pitlochry Festival Theatre is famous for its annual productions which appeal to a cross section of the visitors to Pitlochry. It's possible to see 6 different plays on six different nights. A restaurant and coffee shop is also available. Productions, concerts and other events are now programmed throughout the year.

Golf

Pitlochry is well situated for golfers. It has its own 18 hole course which is not long but will challenge all standards of golfer. Pitlochry G.C. is only 5 minutes walk from Rowanlea. There are many other courses in the locality for the golfing fan, Dunkeld, Blair Atholl, Strathtay, Aberfeldy to name a few, and all offer their own unique challenges.

Blair Castle

This is the second most visited castle in Scotland after Edinburgh. This castle enjoys one of the finest locations in the heart of highland Perthshire. Tours of the castle are available and you can walk around the extensive grounds and gardens. This is one tourist attraction not to miss.

Edradour Whisky Distillery

At Edradour hold's the proud distinction of being the smallest distillery in Scotland. It is also the last original 'farm' distillery in Perthshire. You'll find Edradour nestling in a pocket glen in the hills above Pitlochry in the Southern Highlands. A very interesting tour in a superb location.

Dunkeld

Nestling beneath thickly-wooded hills, its Cathedral and beautifully restored 17th Century buildings have an air of timeless tranquillity. The River Tay passes through this little Perthshire gem. Well worth a visit.

Dam and Fish ladder

One of Scotland's many hydro-electric power stations.This dam across the River Tummel is a major obsticle for Salmon swimming upstream. A ladder of chambers has been built, one of which has a glass panel to enable viewing of the salmon. There is a visitor information centre and shop.

The Crannog Centre

This authentic recreation is based on the excavation evidence from the 2,600 year old site of Oakbank Crannog one of the 18 crannogs preserved in Loch Tay, Scotland. A visit to the Centre includes a self-guided exhibition, a guided crannog tour and 'hands-on' and technology demonstrations. There is also a themed giftshop in which to browse offering an excellent selection of books, crafts, and related items.

Moulin Hotel

Pitlochry Highland Night

A Highland Night is an evening of traditional entertainment, full of Scottish Music and Dance. These outdoor productions are performed weekly during the summer months by local artists for the residents and many visitors of Pitlochry: in the heart of Highland Perthshire. The 2008 Highland Night season run's every Monday evening throughout the summer from the 26th May to the 8th September at the Pitlochry Recreation Ground The gates are open from 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.

Perthshire Amber Festival

The Perthshire Amber Festival brings together many musicians and entertainers from different parts of the world who have been involved with Dougie MacLean over the years. It also provides an opportunity for him to perform little heard songs, as well as well known favourites! This will be the 4th year of this event with each year's event becoming larger. The 2008 event starts on 24th October through to 2nd November.

Pitlochry Golf Men's Highland Open 2008

Once described as "the Switzerland of Scotland", Pitlochry Golf Course offers the visitors to the course the chance to play one of Perthshire's most scenic and visually appealing layouts. With each hole a different challenge in its own way, the course is a good test for all levels of players in superb Highland Perthshire surroundings. This year the event takes place 3rd to 8th August

Pitlochry Highland Games

This year's event takes place on September 13th. Pitlochry Highland Games has been hosting competitors and enthralling spectators since 1852. This is the last major highland games of the season and hosts the final of a number of competitions. Events include, pipe bands, cycle races, highland dancing and the usual highland game events. A great day out in Pitlochry.

The Enchanted Forest

The Enchanted Forest, the renowned outdoor sound and light show is set to delight the senses when it returns to Faskally Wood near Pitlochry this autumn from 17th October – 2nd November. This year’s event, entitled “A Journey Through Space” is guaranteed to be hit with kids both young and old.
